Bluebirds Stake Out Home

This little gal and her mate have picked our birdhouse to set up home. Earlier in the spring we had a pair come through, but they didn't stay. Instead some Chickadees used the house to raise a new family. They vacated and now we have Bluebirds. Not unheard of in North Carolina for sure, but our yard has not been a favorite place for them. We used to see a pair once or twice a year for a day or two. Two Bluebird houses later we have a pair playing house.

Keep A Smile On Your Face.

Great picture! And a pretty bird. Not like the bluebirds I know from upstate New York.

Oooh! So pretty. You captured the blue wonderfully, especially on that old weathered post. I've not seen many bluebirds up here, though I've been told we do have mountain bluebirds. Their blue color is very cheerful.

I hope you are enjoying a nice weekend,

Hey maybe yours came North, we have two pair, they came early April and raised two hatches and left for ..maybe a Canadian Holiday and now they are back nesting again. We have our nest boxes away from each other and need to build more, now they are eating the wild Raspberries. I so wanted to see the babies fledge, but apparently i was not up early enough! :)
